WHAT IS IT ALL ABOUT?
Our Church exists to promote Spiritualism both as a religion and as a way of life. It also provides a meeting place where people can come together in peace and love as well as giving an opportunity to search for and discover spiritual truths.
Communication with our loved ones who have passed to the Spirit World forms part of our Divine Service as well as featuring prominently in our workshops and Demonstrations of Mediumship.
Spirit communication provides evidence of the survival of the human Spirit after physical death. But we do not wish anyone to believe what we believe blindly. Witnessing a demonstration of Mediumship should be viewed as an opportunity to gather your own evidence. It is for you to decide whether the evidence is substantial. In time we hope you will receive sufficient evidence in this way to convince you of the survival of the human Spirit.
Acceptance of that concept opens the door to spiritual progression, where you will gain the ability to accept every day as an opportunity to evolve, full of spiritual experiences that will not only challenge you, but will bring you many rewards. We reap what we sow. A good deed done will always be returned many times over.
Many of the guest mediums who lead our church's Divine Services give their time freely. There is no deception involved, the services are carried out in broad daylight and any spirit communication carried out is as natural as if you were sitting in conversation with your loved ones in your own home.
The Divine Service follows the format of an opening prayer, a reading, an address and demonstration of mediumship by the guest medium and a closing prayer, all interspersed with hymns.
The guest medium may come to any member of the congregation and needs only an affirmative response if the evidence provided can be accepted.
If you cannot accept what is given please say so, be honest in your response and it will enable you to weigh up the evidence fairly. Sometimes we have to reach back in time to find acceptance of a memory link that is given. You may find that subsequently something that did not spring to mind during a communication will hold value for you later.
On some occasions the Medium may ask you to hold a piece of evidence in the hope that you will be able to verify it later if they are very sure of what they are giving you. Verifying a piece of information that you did not know about at the time it was given to you during a demonstration can sometimes be the most evidential experience you can have.
If you wish to visit our Church you can be assured that you will receive a warm and friendly welcome. We try to keep the atmosphere in the church as relaxed and informal as possible so that visitors feel comfortable.
Members of the church are from all age groups and represent a cross section of the community. There is nothing to fear and I am sure you will find a visit uplifting, thought provoking and enlightening. Bring your sense of humour too as communications given are often funny in their nature and most mediums have a lovely way of presenting their philosophy during the service.
